Plan on at least a few hours where ever you are planning to paddle board. The San Juan Mountains can have drastic weather changes and is important to be prepared for sun and rain.
● Sun Protection: Telluride’s high elevation means stronger UV rays. Apply sunscreen generously and consider wearing a hat, sunglasses, and protective clothing to shield yourself from the sun.
● Water Shoes: Protect your feet from sharp rocks or other potential hazards by wearing water shoes or sturdy sandals.
● Water and Snacks: Stay hydrated throughout your paddle boarding session by bringing an adequate amount of water. Pack some snacks to keep your energy levels up.
● Weather-Appropriate Clothing: Dress in layers, considering the weather conditions. It’s a good idea to have a waterproof or quick-drying jacket on hand, as well as a change of clothes in case you get wet.
● Waterproof Bag: Keep your personal belongings, such as keys, phone, and wallet, in a waterproof bag or container to protect them from water damage.
● First Aid Kit: Carry a basic first aid kit with essentials like band-aids, antiseptic wipes, and any necessary medication.
By having these essential items with you, you’ll be well-prepared for a fantastic paddle-boarding experience in Telluride. Remember to prioritize safety and have a great time exploring the scenic waters!
Your rental will include a bike, standard helmet, and gloves. You can add locks and tool kits for an additional $5 each and you can upgrade to a full face helmet for $15. The Downhill Demo bikes include a full face helmet rental and body armor.
We offer two levels of damage insurance during registration. The $10/day damage waiver covers $500 of damage and the $20/day damage waiver covers up to $1000 in damage.
